Dr TARIQ HAMMOURI

Dr. Hammouri is the firm’s Managing Partner for the past 15 years.

Dr. Hammouri has received a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from the University of Jordan, Amman, Jordan and a Master of Laws (LL.M) Degree from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK.

Dr. Hammouri has received a Doctorate in Philosophy in the Faculty of Law (Ph.D.) from the University of Bristol, England, UK.

In the academia, Dr. Hammouri holds the post of Associate Professor of Commercial Law in the University of Jordan and has written numerous scientific articles on Commercial Law matters, that have been published in the most accredited legal journals.

In the political life of Jordan, His Excellency Dr. Tariq Hammouri served as the Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply at the Jordanian Government during the period June 2018 – October 2020.

Furthermore, Dr. Hammouri has served as an advisor to the Government of Jordan in various positions and he is member of various professional associations and bodies and a former Chair Professor of Copyright Law in the UNESCO Chair in Jordan. Also, Dr. Hammouri served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of many institutions, including the Jordan Civil Service Consumer Corporation, Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization, and the Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (‘JEDCO’).

Dr. Hammouri is an officially appointed member of the International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) Panel of Arbitrators upon designation by the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan for the period 2020 to 2026.

  • Advised on a 200 million USD loan representing a major bank in Jordan.
  • Advised on an Insurance claim negotiation for a disputed 10 million USD claim.
  • Represented a client in a 50 million USD mining claim.
  • Arbitrator in various complex commercial arbitration cases, including maritime commercial cases.
